Ath Pavura is a pioneering TV show that is fueling Sri Lanka’s economic enrichment and empowering social entrepreneurs from all segments across the island. This outstanding initiative identifies, nurtures and recognizes hidden gems seeking to solve social and environmental issues from within Sri Lanka's social startup ecosystem. Broadcast on the Independent Television Network (ITN) in partnership with Lanka Impact Investing Network (LIIN), Social Enterprise Lanka and Sampath Bank, the show is revolutionary in terms of its scope and overall social impact.

The format of the show gives social entrepreneurs at the micro, small and medium level the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of impact investors in order to secure access to funding that will help propel their businesses to the next stage of their journey. An added benefit of the show is that it provides a national platform for these novel business ideas thus allowing them to disseminate to a wider audience which in turn will plant the seeds of innovation in the next generation of social entrepreneurs.

Sampath Bank: Three Decades of Nurturing Sri Lanka’s Entrepreneurs

As the lead and tittle sponsor of the second edition of Ath Pavura, Sampath Bank is staying true to its legacy of standing by the nation’s entrepreneurs for over 30 years. Since its inception, the Bank has believed that entrepreneurs have a strong role to play in tackling the many issues Sri Lanka faces – from social to environmental to economic.

Designed to provide technical and financial assistance to budding entrepreneurs, to date the programme has nurtured over 2,000 micro, small and medium scale enterprises.

The Bank also hosts ‘Saviyaka Abhiman’ small and medium enterprise fairs to provide ‘Sampath Saviya’ entrepreneurs with a platform to showcase their products and services to a wider audience.
